Decree 177/2025 established Extremadura’s 2026 regional rehabilitation grant and its first call. It could support eligible works in qualifying existing detached homes, interiors of dwellings in residential apartment buildings, or conversion of another building to residential use. The beneficiary had to be an adult natural person holding 100% full ownership or lifetime usufruct of the dwelling, be current on tax and social-security obligations, and satisfy nationality/residence and regional grant-disqualification rules. This title test excludes an ordinary cooperative or association applicant and a tenant without the required title. The call offered 50% of protected cost, or 70% in stated priority cases, capped at €14,000 for a detached home and €9,000 for works inside a dwelling in a collective residential building.
The four-million-euro call accepted applications for three months from 1 March 2026; applications after that window are inadmissible. On 5 October it is closed. Eligible work included adaptation of a non-residential building only if the resulting homes obtained the required habitability certificate; the call’s specific building-age and work requirements should be checked in Decree 177/2025 before any future call. This is individual-property rehabilitation, not a funding line for a group’s shared building based solely on cooperative status. See es-national-building-rehabilitation for the separate national framework and territorial-call requirement.
