Extremadura has a dedicated regional cooperative statute with a housing-cooperative chapter (Ley 9/2018, arts. 158 onward) and its own cooperative registry; housing cooperatives are a real legal promoter form, but that status alone does not establish a subsidy or guarantee. The current regional legal route sampled here is project-side: Decreto-ley 4/2026 (DOE 4 August 2026) streamlines planning/execution for housing promotion and introduces protected-housing planning incentives. It requires at least one-third of the specified protected-housing share created through the density incentive to be rental, subject to the strategic-plan exception stated in the law. This is a planning/regulatory incentive—not a cash award, and not evidence of an open financial call. Groups must verify municipal plan compatibility, planning approval, land conditions and implementing steps for the specific parcel.

The 2026 budget disposition concerning a mortgage guarantee up to 95% and associated tax-financing support addresses qualifying household purchases and requires a revised/new agreement with Extremadura Avante and participating lenders; the budget text alone does not establish consumer intake. The separate 2026–27 youth rent call is an individual pathway and was closed for exhausted credit; the 2026 home rehabilitation aid was title-based and is closed. These household instruments do not finance a cooperative’s project. The sampled official sources did not establish a currently open regional grant or loan for a private cohousing cooperative’s land/building costs.
