Madrid’s Plan Rehabilita 2026 is an enacted municipal grant call, now closed: applications ended 30 September 2026. The €50m citywide call funded accessibility, conservation, energy efficiency, health, safety and related building work, not new construction. Eligible applicants included owners’ communities and groups of co-owners, single-family building owners, qualifying energy communities, and a narrow single-majority-owner route with vacant homes committed to EMVS’s ReViVa rental programme. Typical building gates: constructed before 1998, ≥70% residential floor area, registered building evaluation report, permits, and minimum eligible budget (€6,000 collective / €3,000 single-family). Community approvals and representative documents were required.
Rates/caps varied by ZETU/ZIRE area and works line; the annex gives per-home caps (e.g. accessibility €4,000 in ZIRE or €10,000 in ZETU) plus separate fee/indirect-cost caps. Do not collapse these into one universal award. Energy communities had a dedicated renewables line. The Ayuntamiento site currently labels the application period finished. For a future round, check building zone, line-specific savings/accessibility thresholds and current call annex. This is a municipal owner/community rehabilitation route, not project finance for a new cooperative development.
