A model-project call launched on 23 December 2025 by the Ministerium für Landesentwicklung und Wohnen, out of the Strategiedialog Bezahlbares Bauen und Wohnen. It pays builders who deliberately depart from customary construction and fit-out standards — the Gebäudetyp E debate — and share what they learn. First round €1.4 million.
- Who: “alle interessierten Bauherren” willing to experiment with standards and contribute to the knowledge transfer. No legal form gate is stated, so a Baugemeinschaft, eG or Verein acting as Bauherr can apply — cohousing groups are among the few builders who can actually agree on lower fit-out standards, which makes this an unusually good fit.
- What is funded: new build, conversion and reactivation of empty buildings anywhere in Baden-Württemberg, plus preparatory feasibility studies.
- Amounts: €300 per m² of eligible Wohnfläche for built projects; 100% of the eligible cost of the scientific monitoring, max €100,000 per project; up to 80% of a Gebäudetyp-E feasibility study, max €50,000 per application.
- Process: Projektskizzen in two rounds, then selection by an expert panel and an invitation into a dialogue process. Round-one deadline 31 March 2026; round-two deadline 31 August 2026 (a corrected date).
Status (open question, not a fact): both published submission deadlines had passed by 2026-09-10 and no third round was announced on the ministry page. Treat the programme as closed to new Skizzen until the ministry says otherwise, and check for a follow-up call before planning around it.
